The "Oberkommando des Heeres"
was in need of good soldiers, especially NCO's. Like all other countries at
war. Under the name "Unteroffiziere des Heeres mit dem Ritterkreuz" they
started a recruiting campaign. Like basball cards one could collect up to 100
'ritterkreuzträger'. Eventualy they where to be glued in an album. The album
however was only to get at the recruitment office.
